October 16 to 22, 2019
Day 1
- Manila to Iloilo via Cebupac, 3:55 AM ETA 5:15 AM. Originally, our flight was to Boracay but we had it rerouted to Iloilo instead
- From Iloilo, we rode the P2P going to Iloilo business center at P80 each, then taxi to port going to Bacolod with ferry fare of P275 per person
- Bought take out lunch and other baon from Biscocho House near the terminal. Bus ride from Bacolod Ceres Southbound terminal to Sipalay – drop off at Brgy Cartagena at around P280 each, then special tric service (can’t remember exactly how much, P300 to P400 maybe) with a very buuuumpy ride going to the resort
- Punta Bulata ❤️
- We had the entire place to ourselves as we were the only guest at that time. We booked the sea view room with balcony overlooking the pool and beach for 2 nights at 40% discounted rate. Rooms are huge, king bed, tv, aircon and big bathroom with bathtub. We were supposed to go to Perth resort but we were told that the pool was under renovation so we looked for other options. Soo glad to found this hidden gem which is now one of our favorite places
- In the afternoon, we strolled at the beach, we love their famous coconut tree with swing and took lotsss of pictures. The sunset here was awesome, postcard angles without effort plus friendly dogs on the side
- The restaurant offered a wide variety and surprisingly almost all in the menu are available despite being off peak season, with us being the only guest at that time. The servings were generous, too
Day 2
- Breakfast by the beach. It was supposed to be buffet, but since kami nga lang ang guest, we were asked for our preferred meal, with pancakes, coffee, fruit juice, and a platter of fresh fruits. It felt as if it was still a buffet meal sa dami ng food 😊
- Included in the room accommodation was the free use of kayak and paddle board. We super enjoyed both for several hours, and soooo loved it when it rained, ang sarap magkayak in the rain
- We still had our lunch and dinner at their restaurant. The kare kare was great and ang dami ng pansit serving, could be good for 3-4 persons hehe
Day 3
- Breakfast ala buffet again by the beach.
- Bob had a dip sa beach, then sa swimming pool namn kami afterwards. Rested ng onti, then prepped na for checkout
- Tric uli going to the main road. We waited for bus going back to Bacolod City and we were onboard naman after just a few minutes
- Thanks to our Airbnb host, sinundo nya pa kami from the Bacolod bus terminal going to their unit
- Citiscapes Condominiums. After checking in, we rested a bit, then rode a taxi going to Bacolod Chicken country for dinner. Ang dami tao, we waited ng onti, the we ate chicken inasal and longaniza inihaw at Aida’s
- October fest yata that time, so we strolled dun sa may park, bought some souvenirs, then went back na to our hotel
Day 4
- Breakfast lang sa room. I forgot na what we ate. Then we went to the kapitolyo to visit their famous sites
- Went to Calea then lunch sa Sharyn’s kamsi. Parang bulalo, P350 per bowl with huge chunks of meat, di namin naubos kasi ang dami ng serving, so take out na lng yung natira
- The Ruins. Entrance fee of P100 per person. There are vans going to and from every hour or so at P50 yata per person, I forgot na how much. We arrived there around 4pm, we like the tubo juice. Pictures syempre then waited to see the Ruins at night para dramatic lights 😏
- Chill lng sa room afterwards, watched movies, ate chips etc
Day 5
- We checked out early as we needed to ride a ferry going to Iloilo, Supercat at P275 each. And, another one going to Guimaras naman, Atlantis Yohan at P50 each. It was a very quick ride from Iloilo to Guimaras, around 15 minutes lang, and the ferry was very airy and comfortable
- Upon arrival sa Guimaras, we asked the tricycle sa pila to be our guide na din for a quick land tour. We visited the following:
- San Lorenzo Wind Farm
- Guimaras signage
- The Pitstop Restaurant for lunch
- Guisi Lighthouse
- Mango stalls
- We got the ref magnets and other pasalubong sa may lighthouse, dami vendors dito. Hinatid na din kami ni kuya tric to our next accommodation
- Jannah-Glycel Beach House. We booked the room via Traveloka last minute while nasa Bacolod kami. P1274 less P250 discount pa per night. The rooms are basic with aircon, tv, wooden furniture and nice bathroom. It’s also right next to the beach. But di na kami nakaligo dito kasi kakatamad na magbasa 😩
- Dinner at the resort’s restaurant, ok lang, we had sinigang…
Day 6
- Brunch at the restaurant uli, I like the grilled samaral, sarap! 🐟
- We arranged pickup ng same tric na nagtour sa min, closed kasi yung Mango plantation the previous day, so we went there on our way to the port. Dami pictures uli, syempre 😍
- Ferry uli from Guimaras to Iloilo. From the port, we stopped by muna sa SM hypermart near the port for supplies, then went na to our next Airbnb room at Avida Towers Atria, just at the back of Ayala mall.
- After lunch, we went to see Iloilo landmarks, stroll sa park, Biscocho House for pasalubong.. butterscotch and other bread and sweets
- We had our dinner at Netong’s for the famous batchoy, then kape sa Madge coffee
Day 7
- Breakfast lang sa room. Getting ready na din to check out to catch our flight back to Manila
- P2P uli from Ayala going to the airport
- We bought additional pasalubong sa airport. I was kinda addicted sa biscocho that time, dami ko tuloy binili hahaha
- Iloilo to Manila via Cebupac uli, 5:55 PM
For several years now, we have been celebrating our wedding anniversary in Boracay. But since we have been in Boracay earlier in June this year, and good thing there were changes in our flights, we were able to have them rerouted to Iloilo instead. We would love to go back to Guimaras maybe during mango season…
